Accessible golf courses in the area are Sapphire National Golf Club, Wade Hampton Golf Club, Trillium, High Hampton Inn & Country Club, Mountain Top Golf & Lake Club, Headwaters Golf Course and Highlands Cove Golf Course. Cashiers offers some of western NC%u2019s best hiking trails and local trout fishing. The local hiking trail guide is on the coffee table in the living room. Try Gorges State Park for three spectacular waterfalls. Whitewater rafting is available at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, which is only 1.5 hours away. Makes a great day trip. Stop in Dillsboro, NC for some of the best BBQ in western NC. There are two golf courses (Highlands Cove and Sapphire National) and one Executive Par Three (Red Bird Golf Links) in the area. Highlands is 10 miles further west on HWY 64 and offers great shopping, dining, and local art galleries. The house is in Sapphire NC and we have membership to the Fairfield resort facilities, it has a rec center, indoor outdoor pool, tennis and a par 3 golf course (more for the kids). There are several beautiful public golf courses in the area, as well as hiking, shopping, restaurants. Total drive time is approximately three hours from South Charlotte.
